For those of us dancing through life and missing every beat

Today I decided to let YOU get to know ME a little bit better. (Hehe) Why? Well… I just feel like rambling on about myself. After all, what Aries girl doesn’t love chatting away about her favorite subject, herself?

So without further adios ladies and gentleman, here are 25 things you may or may not know about me:

1) I was named after a witch (Angelique Bouchard Collins) in the 1960’s Soap Opera Dark Shadows.

2) I love the smell of fresh cut grass, especially after in rains. However, grass gives me hives if I sit in it.

3) Sometimes when I am alone, I will ballet around the house. It’s an awful sight, but I do so enjoy it.

4) I lived in the Sigma xi fraternity house at Duke University for a year.

5) I followed the Grateful Dead for 2 years. (Actually I was hijacked by my boyfriend who was following the Dead at the time. But I did enjoy the shows)

6) I use to have a Mohawk and a mad obsession with shaving my head as a teenager.

7) I have dyed my hair about every color in the rainbow.

8) I love the way a kitten’s breath smells.

9) I have a strange fascination and love of goats. I really really really want one for a pet.

10) Sometimes, when I am extremely sad and need to cry, I go into a closet to be alone and weep. For some strange reason it makes me feel safe.

11) My favorite city in the United States is San Francisco. I have always wanted to live there, it’s just too dang expensive.

12) My arm span is longer than my height. I have monkey arms and am convinced this is because of all the time I spent in my childhood swinging from bars.

13) I can still do a cherry drop and a front hand spring (alas the few remaining childhood remnants I have).

14) For a good portion of my developmental years, I wanted to be Dr. Quincy. I believe this had a major influence on my decision to obtain an Anthropology degree.

15) I taught myself to Crochet in November 2011.

16) My heart melts every time my daughter scrunches up her nose and gives me her happy face. I also love how she raisers up her eyebrows when she eats something she loves.

17) I have been journaling for as long as I can remember and still have the journals I wrote about 20 years ago. (Although, since I had the baby this craft has fallen to the wayside)

18) I can cast a horoscope chart. (probably a bit rusty, but I could still bust one out)

19) I do Tarot card readings.

20) My favorite fairytale is Alice in Wonderland.

21) I have a huge disdain towards snotty classist people.

22) I have a minimalist sense of style but always end up living with hoarders. LOL!

23) I was a private investigator for one year and had a Class D “Unarmed Security License.” (Sounds much more glamorous than it was)

24) Right now is the happiest I have ever been in my life.

25) I do not like spaghetti or lasagna.

Where Have You Been?

Oh me, oh my…

It has been ages since my last post! Let us see…. February? Was it really in February? My, my how time does fly.

Let’s be realistic, there is NO WAY I am going to be able to catch you (whomever YOU may be) up on what has been happening in my life for the past 3 ½ months. I can advise that sickness, whether mine or the wee bits’, has been prevalent and I spent most of flu season keeping big pharma and the medical industry in business! We had bronchitis, walking pneumonia, ear infection, after ear infection, upper respiratory infections, roseola, stomach flues, and the crescendo, ladies and gentleman, was poor Matt having to take me to the hospital to have surgery on his birthday. I had a few adhesions removed last month via laparoscopic surgery. The pain that was ever persistent and consistent in my abdomen is now gone. But poor Matt spent his birthday weekend caring for me and the kids. My mother also came into town to help over that weekend. I was a miserable SOB, not so much because of pain from the incisions, no that did not hurt at all. In laparoscopic surgery, they fill your abdomen up with gas. That gas takes a while to disappear and it hurts so so much. The gas made me extremely mean. The pain pills I had to take because of the gas made me meaner. The reaction to all the medicine and the lovely stomach virus that caused continual vomiting made me the devil. My poor mother and Matthew had a horrible weekend. The outcome of their sacrifice has been a pain free me, but still it sucked for them.

With work, caring for sick people, and trying to check things off the daily to do list, blogging feel by the wayside. But I am back in the game!

I have been rethinking my weekly / daily topics and may change things up a bit. I hate being confined, boxed in, made to adhere to a point (hehe) so perhaps the topics may become more of a loose suggestion. My plan is to sit down, start typing and see what comes out!

I have still been crocheting up a storm! I still love it to death, and my family wishes just that, that it would die or slink away into the night never to be found again. My one supporter, little Baby bear, still taste tests everything I make. I have accepted her actions as an indication that she is the number one fan of my hobby. Could be wrong, but until she can talk, her actions are subject to my interpretations. Muhahahahaha! I have made quite a few things these past moths and still have a good amount of unfinished projects cast about. I am currently obsessed with an alien gift set I am making for a very belated baby shower (or perhaps early one year old birthday) gift.

I have also become obsessed (not sure that is a strong enough word)with the TV series Once Upon a Time. IN LOVE! Such a great series. It is the first television show that I actually theorize about. Unfortunately, this Sunday is the season finale. The promos suggest that the finale is going to be a good one. Can’t wait, but it is a bitter sweet feeling. What is a girl to do over the summer without OUAT? Will all my questions be answered or will I have to wait, endlessly speculating and dying until the fall? We shall see “dearies,” we shall see.

A couple days of missing time in pictures...
